We’re in a bit of a liminal space right now. Winter is almost over but we’re not really yet in spring. We’re seeing new collections hit the runway, but SS24 hasn’t fully rolled out to retail sites. At the same time, there’s always room for some great new vintage in your home. Enter: a foray into resale sites. Namely, my most perused: The RealReal, eBay, and Etsy. Below, I offer you 8 recent saves from each, still available to purchase and, if I do say so myself, quite stellar. Why not take a rarefied walk through my hearts folders.
The RealReal
Listen, the Real Real gets some flack, especially on the clock app, and it’s not all unfounded. But I’ll tell you where The Real Real really shines and it’s with small designers and vintage big names. If you find a new designer that you like, it takes awhile for TRR to bring the prices all the way up, so I’ve gotten a Bevza blazer for $60. Here’s some of what I’ve been saving. These are mostly my size but I do size up sometimes, and if I do this again, I’ll expand to other sizes.
This great red Anna Quan skirt
eBay
eBay is my first love. I recently got am email congratulating me on 20 years (!) as a member. I’ve bought, I’ve sold, I’ve searched, I’ve saved. I have a 100% rating and sometimes I read my reviews when I need a little pick me up (JK, maybe). My tastes here run from great vintage fashion to vintage homewares. I do think the best deals live on eBay. You always have the chance of getting the random seller who found something great in his grandma’s basement and doesn’t know what it’s worth. As I buy these things for my own enjoyment and not reselling I don’t think that’s karmically sus! Here we have an RL suit that’s giving the Prada runway that just walked, a great Protagonist top that I searched for after I saw Jessica Willis remind me of it in a post about the long lost brand on her Insta, a truly great vintage Miu Miu top and a vintage lion lamp I saved after I saw a great throwback pic of some long ago Parisian apartment.

Etsy
Listen, the cat is out of the bag on Etsy. There aren’t a lot of crazy deals to be had but there are a lot of incredible pieces. Etsy is my vintage furniture and home accessory go-to. I love a marketplace search but that’s much more needle-in-a-haystack than most people can handle. I also love Live Auctioneers but it’s not for the faint of heart. Etsy is where I go to make purchases that I know I’ll love, not mere whims. Below is a random foray into Swedish design (my search words just lead me there!), busts (as always), vintage oil paintings (check!), and the rare repo that I think I just want.
What lovely and awesome deals. Keep ‘em coming’❤️
